Q: occasional clunking sound in front right on 1998 Chevrolet S10

Edit
What would cause the occasional clunking sound I hear when I hit a bump in the road. It is coming from the right front area. Sometimes it goes away completely, other times it is continuous when hitting bumps in road. A friend said it might be a rusty spring.
