NOISE AND POWER FLUCTUATION

(1998 Dodge Ram 1500)
in Omaha, NE on December 18, 2010
THE EXHAUST SYSTEM ON MY DODGE HAS GOTTEN LOUDER OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THE ENGINE POWER FLUCTUATING AROUND 50-60 MPH. IT SHOWS ON THE TACH AS WELL. THERE IS SOMETIMES A TICKING SOUND COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK HAS 73K MILES ON IT, AND IT IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.

I'm wondering if you may have a leaking exhaust manifold and / or manifold gasket? A first hand inspection is in order.
