No reverse

(1999 Ford Explorer)
in Grants Pass, OR on August 21, 2017
moves about 2' in reverse then stops the engine will rev up but no movement. Forward gears work fine.
What seems to make the problem better or worse? problem is the same hot or cold

Internal parts worn or damaged .. Transmission rebuild or replacement is required to repair .. There is no external quick fix ...... Sorry.
