(1999 Ford F-150)
in Las Vegas, NV on March 31, 2010
my tranny will not engage reverse ! will catch all foreward gears ... but if I put my foot into it , it will pass the gear and reeve up will take a second for the tranny to catch up ! would the shift control soleniod have any thing to do with issue ? and is it possile to ruin or have a malfunction of the soleniod if the tranny had been driven with low amount of ATF

It does sound like internal transmission problem quite likely caused by low trans fluid but it may be a common F150 problem a fellow at work has no reverse as well on his F150 but has not checked out why yet.
