Incorrect Tire Information Label May Be Installed
The incorrect vehicle weight capacity may be shown on the tire information label.
This could be considered a medium priority recall, changing to high if you consistently overload your vehicle. Owners of affected vehicles have been mailed the correct tire information labels. if you need more information regarding your vehicle and this recall, please contact your Nissan dealer. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The tire information label may be printed with the incorrect vehicle weight rating. Updated labels and installation instructions will be mailed to the owners of affected vehicles. This recall is scheduled to begin on February 25, 2008. The Nissan recall number is R0802.

NISSAN IS RECALLING 5,523 MY 2008 TITAN, FRONTIER AND XTERRA VEHICLES FOR FAILING TO COMPLY TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 110, 'TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES.' THE TIRE PLACARD LISTS AN INCORRECT VEHICLE CAPACITY WEIGHT.
THIS STANDARD SPECIFIES REQUIREMENTS FOR TIRE SELECTION TO PREVENT OVERLOADING.
NISSAN WILL MAIL A CORRECT TIRE PLACARD AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS TO OWNERS OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 25, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.
