On April 13, 2017, Nissan recalled 25,283 Nissan Sentra. Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain 2015-2017 leaf and 2014, 2015 and 2017 sentra vehicles. due to a manufacturing error within the air bag inflators, the passenger frontal air bag may not properly deploy in the event of a crash.

The passenger frontal air bag may not deploy properly in a crash, resulting in increase risk of occupant injury.

Recall repairs on your Nissan must be performed by a Nissan dealership. Nissan will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in June, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Nissan dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.

The passenger frontal air bag may deploy when it should be deactivated with a child seat installed in the passenger front seat. This is due to a seat bracket becoming deformed when installing the child seat's child restraint system. The deformed bracket will send improper information to the occupant classification system which would allow the air bag to remain powered in an accident. This could result in increased risk of injury to the child in the seat.

Recall repairs on your Nissan must be performed by a Nissan dealership. Nissan will begin notifying known owners of affected vehicles in June, 2016.
