New MAF Sensor causing surges

New MAF Sensor put on and car stumbles and surges then cuts off. Car has been reset.Code 8b comes up on scanner. What's the problem.

That code does not seem to be a standard code, Get me a good code a standard code should look like this PXXX. BMWs are sensitive vehicles sometimes you need to get OEM parts is the MAF sensor OEM? Did you get the right one? Ok is a Peake Code Electric thermostat control final stage I would guess that the error occurs when the computer can no longer control the electronic thermostat within its tolerances. Either the heating element or the wax breaks down and will not function properly
