My wife bought a 2004 Toyota Highlander we have noticed a clunking noise.

It seems to becoming from steering wheel what could the cause be? and how much to repair problem.It happens every time you turn the wheel either left or right.

sounds like your rack and pinion bushings are damaged and loose...causing that clunking noise whenever you turn the steering wheel. check for bushing play inside the rack and pinion clamp-downs and possible oil leak causing it to deteriorate.

Thank you for the information, will take it up with service manager at dealership now. I just hope the cost will not be to much, since my wife just got the car Saturday, and we just drove it home and to the doctor's three miles away, and we only live about 10 miles from dealership.
