My truck doesn't start but does when push started.

(1990 Nissan Pickup (D21))
in Selma, OR on May 04, 2012
I was getting ready to leave and my truck would not turn over. I had to get it push started and I popped the clutch. I drove it home and parked and then started it up right away with no issues. But then when I wanted to leave again, it would not start and had to be push started again. Could it be the starter going out or something else?
