My malibu is leaking oil from what looks like a pulley for the main drive belt

(1998 Chevrolet Malibu)
in Whittier, CA on February 14, 2012
there is oil on the inside of the front passenger wheel and around the rotor. There is also oil all over the transmission pan. I dont think it is leakin form the drain plug beacuse I just put a new gasket on. Oil is also on the inside of the right fender.

Are any of the fluid levels low? You may have to wash off the engine and transmission to locate the leak. Is it red colored oil (steering or trans fluid) or is it black/brown colored oil (engine oil). Starting with a clean engine and then running the engine it may be easier to identify specific leaks. If the oil leak can not be identified, florescent dye may need to be added to the oil and the engine run for a while. After running the engine the dye used has florescence in the dye is visible under UV light and it helps pin points the source of the leak.
