My key keeps getting stuck in the ignition, what can be causing this.

(1999 Volvo V70 XC)

It is stuck there now and has been for a week.

mine does this when the shift button on the gear selector does not fully release. one squirt of wd 40 every couple of months does the trick for me.

possibly your key got bent or modified worn and it messed up the tumblers inside the ignition switch try to spray some grafite lube or wd/40 into the slot where the key is and wiggle the key around it will come out
