Q: My fuel gauge on the dash isn't working properly. on 2005 Nissan Altima

Rookie cbe0621eac06868b3efe0d8d1d3611e23c60d3114864ea2ec19a68cfbd3eebab
When I fill up with gas, the gauge only registers half full, but the tank is full. The dte shows 310 miles, but the gauge reads about half a tank left.
This problem was intermittent, but with the last month it has gotten to be a regular weekly issue.

For the other answers - Come on guys - This is a fix-it question - not do the Nissan $600.00 replace the whole ___fuel pump and sender unit - a fuel sender unit is only an open wire resistor with a wiper on it - It has to be the wiper is not making contact - but someone out there has to be able to tell me how to fix it and not make Nissan another small fortune. This is like a Ford - Take apart 3 other things to get at what you need to fix - Nissan wants you replace parts that don't need to be touched!
