My engine warning lights, gas gauge, temp gauge and alternator gauge quit

(1991 Chevrolet S10)
My gauges quit working as I was driving. Shut off and turned engine back on but notice that the idiot lights didn't come on either. Checked alternator with volt meter had no out put. I need help where else to start trouble shooting

Engine still start & run ok? .. Headlights working? .. Got battery power to the big red wire in the two wire plug in at the alternator? .. Got battery power to the big red wire on the back stud of alternator, (the wire that's under the nut)? .. All of the big maxi fuses ok? .. Any signs of a problem at all prior to this like gauges fluctuating or headlights slightly dim the get bright again? .. If you can provide all of this information it will help!
