My CLK 320 would crank about have a revolution of Engine but will not start

(1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK320)
in Tacoma, WA on April 30, 2013
The Car will turn over half a rev but will not start. After a few attempts it starts and runs as if there was never a problem, this fault has become more frequent lately. No fault indicator in the Dash. This happens very often, could it be the CPS?

Possibilities- engine hydro-locked after sitting (mild headgasket leak) , low voltage/poor connection to starter. Do guage lights go very dim while trying to crank? Does the starter sound different , like it's trying to work REALLY hard to turn the engine? Bad cell in battery?
