My check engine light is on and the codes are P0712 P0700 and P0562.

when the car is acting up it seems like it wont shift gears.

P0712 is for the transmission fluid temperature sensor circuit, it means the sensor is sending a signal that is too low, this could actually mean that the transmission is overheating. When that happens the control module will stop shifting the transmission. The P0563 is low system voltage, and the P0700 is simply a code in the PCM that means the TCM has detected a problem. Seek out a transmission shop for the diagnostics on this.

I called a repair shop and was told it is probably the "transmission Solenoid Pack" and it would cost approximately $450.00. Is it possible it could be something simpler like a bad sensor?
