My check engine light came on. the code says that temp is below thermostat level

(2001 Buick LeSabre)

should I replace the thermostat or is it a sensor ?

Normally we would check to see what temp the thermostat is opening at it is more likly a thermostat that has failed and is stuck open or is opening to soon, with out proper test equipment to check the temp sensor for the PCM it is hard to tell if the sensor is having a problem.

I think I'll change the thermostat since its a cheap fix and see if that helps. Any idea which temp thermostat I should get? I saw 3 or 4 different temp thermostats for my year car.

You need to install the Factory Temp 192 Degree or the vehicle will never go into close loop if you use a cooler range thermostat
