My car will crank but wont start even with starter fluid

Car will crank but wont start even with starter fluid it just drains the battery trying what would cause this and what she i check first it has fire and it srayes gas out the shrader valve on the fuel rail but wont start

sounds like you have a compression issue as a second thought. My experience is that you may have a bad timing belt/chain. you didn't say the engine size yet the timing chains on some older GM cars are made out of nylon on the gears and I just replaced two of them the last month. did you recently experience any backfire through the intake or exhaust. the nylon teeth wear causing the timing chain to jump.

Well when u crank on it it kinda makes a pop or backfire and to me ya sounds like its out of time its a 3.1 3100

From what I got on your information is that it is the timing chain that is bad. So you need to pull the timing cover and see how loose the chain is, make sure that you replace the timing chain tensioner/guide also. that is if there is any left there. all three i repaired had the tensioner wore out to a frazel and the last one was completely gone except for the steel step plate. the timing set is about 30.00 tensioner about 25.00, and timing cover gasket set about 15.00 at Orielly auto parts.
