My Buick is making groaning noises when I turn. What is wrong with it?

(2004 Buick LeSabre)
My 2004 Buick Lesabre custom is making groaning noises when I turn the wheels on the car. The sound is seemingly coming from near the tires. I checked my power steering fluid and it was above the hot mark on the reservoir cap. The fluid kind of looked yellowish/brown. I am not sure what that means and if I can just change the power steering fluid to fix it
What seems to make the problem better or worse? Don't know
How long have you had this problem? A few weeks maybe a month

Check the fluid while it's running to see if it looks aerated or has bubbles. This could be a bad pump. Brown and yellow fluid is pretty normal though.
