My acura began vibrating (sounds like a exhaust leak) but when I am turning to the left it all stops. no sound and no vibration

(2000 Acura TL)
At first I thought it was an exhaust leak from the sound but I can be coasting at 40mph and the car vibrates, not bad but more of a buzzing sensation. It stops vibrating as soon as I start to turn my wheel to the left either to make a turn or change lanes. It just turned 250K on the odometer and I have a goal to get at least 300K from it. Thanks
What seems to make the problem better or worse? turning left
How long have you had this problem? two weeks

Hello,
That's a great manufacturer for the 300k goal.

That sounds a lot like a bad motor mount. Making a turn is likely shifting weight from it so that it stops vibrating.

You can open the hood and shift between drive and reverse (waiting a couple seconds between) while holding the brakes to see if there is excessive movement of the engine.

The engine should rock enough that you can tell the transmission engaged, but it should not jump to either side or front to back.

I had a friend watch the engine while I went in and out of gear and there wasn't a noticeable jump. I took it out and as long as I go straight or to the right I get the vibration (like riding in a jeep with knobby tires) but if I move the steering wheel just 10 degrees to the left the sound and vibrations completely goes away. It is not a shaking sensation but a vibration like a electric tooth brush.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Oh, I completely misunderstood the situation. That's very likely a wheel bearing going bad.

Just raise the front left wheel and see if it has movement in and out at the top and bottom.

Then you can slowly rotate the tire to see if you feel grinding.

You are better than you think. It was a left rear wheel bearing and they said both engine mounts were broken. I had them fix the wheel bearing for now. If I repaired both the cost would exceed the value of the care ;-)
