My 99 Ford Ranger the rear end won't come out of low gear and front tires not in

High and low light blinks intermediately and rear end is stuck in low gear and front tires not pulling. When I switched the electric switch nothing happens in any position

Tap transfer case shift motor with SMALL hammer to see if it will complete the shift sequence... The Auto Locking front hubs give a lot of trouble as well.. You have two problems it seems!!

Well the 4x4 don't get used very often... Until it snows!!.. That's what happens a lot of the time, stuff gets lazy over time without exercise.... Me too!!

Any ideas on how to get the rear end out of low gear. I hate to drive it to far that way.

Well it's not the rear end!!!.. It's the transfer case!!.. Go back and read my first answer!! Google > transfer case shift motor... Look at picture to see what to tap on...with 'small' hammer!... It's stuck!.. Sometimes that will unstick it.... If that don't work, maybe you can drive it slowly to the shop...I don't know how far that is...but....
