My 06 Uplander seems to chug a bit down the highway, it idles past 2 & then back

So when I am going 55 MPH, when I look down it is about on the "2" and it then seems like it jumps up past 2 and then back. It will do this like every few minutes.

It could be many things, unfortunately and without experiencing the problem first hand or being able to do some basic diagnostic tests its hard to say. Its hard to say if it's an engine related problem or the transmission hunting around. Is there a check engine light on? if so the codes stored in the computer of your car would indicate where the problem may lay. 2000 RPM is probably about right at 55mph on level ground.

Unfortunately, there are no lights on at this time.
