Started it by jumping across starter solenoid.1 mechanic told me it was the starter solenoid. Another told me it was the clutch switch.

What I typically do, is I have some one try the truck, while I check for voltage to the starter solenoid's little trigger wire. If there is voltage there, and the battery and cables are good, then I replace the starter assembly. If there is no voltage, then I trace back. You can jumper wire the clutch switch to check that.
