MOISTURE IN HEADLIGHTS ASSEMBLY

(1999 Lincoln Town Car)
I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE PEOPLE WHO DO MAINTENANCE ON MY CAR THAT EACH SEPARATE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY/HOUSING WILL COST $1000.00 EACH. I WAS ADVISED THAT I HAD TO PURCHASE THE COMPLETE UNIT WHICH INCLUDES THE HEADLIGHT AND ASSEMBLY.

ARE THEY RIGHT?

If the condensation hasn't caused damage to the assembly you can remove it,take out the bulb and use a hair drier to get rid of it. Then drill a small hole or two in the back of it to prevent it from building up again. Also , before reinstallation put a thin coating of silicone sealer around seams where the gaskets are.
