On October 31, 2016, Mitsubishi recalled 94,534 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. Mitsubishi motors north america, inc. (mmna) is recalling certain model year 2011-2015 outlander sport vehicles manufactured august 26, 2010, to january 5, 2015. in the affected vehicles, water may drop between the hood and the windshield and leak into the wiper motor breathing hole. the water may cause internal corrosion of the windshield wiper motor and the possible failure of the motor.

The wiper motor may get water inside of it, causing internal corrosion. The wiper motor may stop working as a result, reducing visibility for the driver which can cause an accident.

Recall repairs on your Mitsubishi must be performed by a Mitsubishi dealership. Mitsubishi will notify known owners of affected vehicles (a timetable for this notification is not available as of the time of this writing).
