Mitsubishi Outlander Recall 13V112000
The Fuel Gauge May Read Incorrectly
2013 Outlander Sport AWD vehicles are being recalled because the fuel gauge may read incorrectly, indicating more fuel than is actually in the tank.
As of this writing, Mitsubishi has not released an owner notification schedule for this recall. If are having problems with your fuel gauge or you don't receive notification and you believe you should have, please contact your local dealer. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Mitsubishi recall number is SR-13-005.
Mitsubishi is recalling the 2013 Outlander Sport AWD because they may have been assembled without a fuel sending unit wire harness for the secondary sending unit. This can result in a false fuel tank level reading. If the fuel gauge were to indicate fuel available while driving when the tank is empty, the engine would stall increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will install the proper fuel sending unit wire harness to correct this concern.

Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (Mitsubishi) is recalling certain model year 2013 Outlander Sport AWD vehicles manufactured June 11, 2012, through December 11, 2012. These vehicles may have been built without a fuel sending unit harness for the sub-sending unit. This may result in a false fuel tank level reading.
The vehicle operator may believe they have fuel when the tank is actually empty. This could cause the engine to stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
Mitsubishi will notify owners, and dealers will install the proper fuel sending harness, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Mitsubishi at 1-888-648-7820. Mitsubishi's campaign recall number is SR-13-005.
