On October 30, 2017, Mitsubishi recalled 83,555 Mitsubishi Mirage. Mitsubishi motors north america, inc. (mmna) is recalling certain 2014-2018 mirage vehicles. the internal acceleration sensor in the safety restraint system (srs) electronic control unit (ecu) can misinterpret vibrations such as those from poor road conditions or a flat tire to be a sensor error thereby disabling the air bags from deploying in a crash.

The air bags may not deploy as needed in a crash due to a failure of the software of the Safety Restraint System Electronic Control Unit. This increases risk of occupant injury in a crash.

Recall repairs on your Mitsubishi must be performed by a Mitsubishi dealership. Mitsubishi will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in November, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Mitsubishi dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Mitsubishi recall number is SR-17-006.
