Metal shavings and gas smell in water reservoir. Check engine light on.

The car never said it was getting hot. Just started making a ratteling noise and shut off. After leaving it off for five minutes it registered half way hot. I refilled the water and it now had aluminum shavings floating on the water w a gas smell.

It needs to go to a repair shop for for some testing, if it got hot enough to quit running, engine damage is likely but hard to say how much damage without looking at it. Any engine noise now that wasn't there before?
