RepairPal Expert Overview on August 30, 2007

The transmission oil cooler lines may not have been secured properly during assembly. If the oil cooler lines separate from the transmission and transmission fluid contacts the hot exhaust, a fire could start.

We at RepairPal have designated this a high priority recall; the transmission oil cooler lines may separate without warning. Please contact your Mercury dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
