When they replaced the radiator hoses they accidentally cut another important part in my car and didn't realize it. Even though it would have been nicer if they had noticed it right away so that my car would not have broken down again the day after I got it out of the shop, I still really appreciate that they assumed responsibility and fixed it as quickly as they could without charging me for it. I feel like most places would've claimed that cars are just like that and given another bill after I just had almost $1200 worth of work done. I was relieved to hear that I wouldn't have to find more money somewhere!

Spent over $200 bucks for A/C recharge and for them to pressure wash my motor. The A/C was charged but they didn't check for leaks. The next day all of the freon was gone. They charged $45.00 to pressure wash the motor, but only washed off the power steering pump and lines, $45.00 to pressure wash the engine should have cleaned the whole engine not the pump. The procedure was for $45.00 to pressure wash the whole motor bay, not one small area of the power steering pump.

Called for an appt, which wasn't written down so I had to reschedule when I showed up to the shop. Was told it would be worked on first thing in the morning (serpentine belt replacement) but wasn't ready until the afternoon. Tried charging me for diagnostics to determine the problem when I told both the man on the phone and the gal at the front desk I was sure it was the belt and I just wanted that replaced. They drop diagnostics which was very kind but then on the way home on the highway I heard a loud thunk and then continuous scraping. When I pulled over on the shoulder I discovered that part of the plastic under sheeting that sends air up into your engine was not properly secured after service and I had to drill a couple new holes to resecure it. I understand that some unfortunate things happened during these folk's week but even so, the experience I had was less than satisfactory

It's too soon to tell whether the work will fix the problem because the problem was losing oil over time. I certainly felt they were knowledgeable, examined all the possibilities, discussed options with me beforehand, and did not charge for extra work. In fact, they chose not to do part of the maintenance we discussed because they discovered it was unneeded. That honesty matters.

Medford Automotive Service Center is the first place I went to after moving to the Rogue Valley. I found the service to be very friendly and inviting. This shop does wonderful work and at a fair price, my only complaint is that I had to have the same part fixed 3 times in a 2.5 year period and the third time they charged me full price to redo the repair based on mileage... I feel like they should have split it with me. Having that said they are a good shop.

Everyone was very friendly and upfront. They worked on my 1962 Ford Falcon and did a great job repairing my transmission (resealed the pan gasket after repairing the pan). They didn't tell me that I needed any more work after I had originally told I needed a complete rebuild. I feel it was a good job and a great value. I would bring my car back to them for any work in the future.

My mistake, you guys are not a transmission shop. I wanted the shifting points adjusted on my pickup, you all drove it and said it was fine (at that time) however a few days out of your shop it was doing the same crap, the RPM would go high enough before shifting into second gear, the computer would enact the rev limiter. That visit cost me one hundred bucks for nothing.

The tug sensation could be caused by a failing fuel pump, restricted fuel filter or an ignition system problem causing the engine to loose power. A fuel pressure test can be performed under the conditions described to determine if there is a lack of fuel pressure, replacing the fuel filter is always a good start. Have the tune up checked and have the computer read for any trouble codes.

If the engine is not leaking the oil, it is eating the oil. Common areas to inspect is the PCV system, a faulty valve can draw more oil vapors from the crankcase than normal. The piston oil control rings can get gummed up causing too much oil to remain on the cylinder walls and will be consumed in the combustion cycle. The intake valve stem seals and the exhaust valve stem seals can also leak too much oil and be consumed in the combustion cycle. Sometimes inspecting the spark plugs can give some indication of how the oil is being consumed.

The oil pressure light coming on with the engine running is an indication that the oil pressure is too low, driving with the oil light on can cause internal damage to the engine. The lack of lubrication from oil pressure can cause the engine to stop rotating and the engine dies. When trying to start the engine, the starter can not rotate the engine and will only make a lick sound.

Just a though, the transfer case is a possibility. Making the noise in 4wd hi or low could be caused by a failing chain inside the transfer case. In 2wd the chain is not under any load.

Sounds like this Ranger has a transmission problem and a transfer case problem. The transmission is controlled by the PCM and does not have the old style shift module. The transfer case is also operated electronically. It is time to have the computer codes read and inspect the transmission and transfer case to identify the root cause of the shifting problems.

The symptom described indicates a possible low fluid level or internal transmission failure. Check the transmission fluid level to verify it is full and check the condition of the fluid. Transmission fluid should be a translucent Red color. If the fluid is dark or has a burnt smell, it is time to have the transmission inspected to verify what has failed.

The check engine light is indicating a problem and will need the computer codes read to identify the next step in diagnosing the problem. Unfortunately the owners manual will not have any information other than to take the vehicle to the dealership for service.

Most leaks are found where a gasket has failed or where a rubber hose has failed. A visual inspection is a great start, next use a smoke machine to fill the intake to identify where the leak is and last have it inspected by a professional.

Many of the early Dodge 1500 did not have a WCM, most of the modules are located close to the steering column and are connected by a few wires going to the ignition switch key antenna that reads the signals from the security chip in the key.
