Q: mechanic says the seats drained my dead battery? on 2002 Mercedes-Benz C320

why does mercedes have such a problem that the battery goes dead because of the seats? We have have a number of batteries replaced before the mechanics told us its the front seats that drained the battery. They unplugged both seats and doesn't appear to have any other problems, but we cannot adjust seating. Can mercedes rectify this?

Have seen this before. The problem with these vehicles is with the Passenger Power Seat Module. This is the most common module that goes bad. Although I have seen where the Drivers Power Seat Module goes bad also. Have a qualified shop test the modules. The problems is that they have a parasitic draw on the battery and cause it to go dead. In other words, the modules never actually turn off when commanded by the engine computer.

We can help with the replacement of these parts if needed. Call if you need to schedule. 215-638-3588. Kevin

Good Luck!
