Mazda MAZDASPEED3 RecallsLift Gate Falls Unexpectedly
The rear lift gate support struts may corrode and fail, and the lift gate may fall from the open position, or not stay open as expected. Dealers will replace the lift gate supports free of charge to resolve the concern.
The ground terminal of the windshield wiper motor may have been bent during vehicle assembly. Due to the bent terminal, over time, the electrical resistance of the motor circuit may increase to the point that the windshield wipers may stop working. Loss of wiper function in adverse weather could increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will install an additional ground harness on the wiper motor to correct this concern. This recall is expected to begin by July 15, 2011. The Mazda recall number is 6411F.
The number 4 bolt of the left side engine mount may loosen and break. This can result in the transmission going out of proper position, and the drive shaft detaching. Dealers will replace the number 4 engine mount bolt and replace affected mounts as necessary free of charge to resolve the concern.
