On February 9, 2017, Mazda recalled 173,859 Mazda Mazda2. Mazda north american operations (mazda) is recalling certain 2011 mazda2 and 2010-2011 mazda3 and mazdaspeed3 vehicles. in the affected vehicles, the seat height adjustment lifter links may break or detach from the seat frame and the seat angle may incline causing the driver to not be able to maintain an appropriate driving position.

The front driver's seat may not be able to be properly adjusted due to a failure of the seat height adjustment lifter links. The seat angle may incline, causing the driver to not be able to maintain an appropriate driving position. This would result in the increased risk of a crash.

Recall repairs on your Mazda must be performed by a Mazda dealership. Mazda will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in March, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Mazda dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Mazda recall number is 09717B.
