Mazda Recalls 2000 MPV Due to Improper Tire Information Labels

Recall Details

Improper or missing tire information labels will not provide proper information regarding tire fitment and air pressure. Mazda sent MPV owners replacement labels for the vehicle and owners manual.

Summary
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MINI VANS. THESE MINI VANS DO NOT HAVE TIRE INFORMATION LABELS THAT COMPLY WITH SECTION 5.3 OF FMVSS 120, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES OTHER THAN PASSENGER CARS."
Consequence
Improper information regarding tire fitment and inflation pressure could cause a safety issue.
Remedy
OWNERS WILL BE SENT ACCURATE TIRE INFORMATION LABELS AND OWNER MANUAL INSERTS.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JULY 24, 2000. OWNERS WHO DO NOT RECEIVE THE TIRE INFORMATION LABELS AND OWNER MANUAL INSERTS WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT MAZDA AT 1-800-222-5500.
