Lound noise

What is your question?

My Voyager starting making a loud almost bubbling noise on Saturday on the right side of the engine in front of the passengers side. along with the noise there is a burning smell almost like the smell you get from the brake pads. The sound started when we started up the car and then went away after we drove it a bit. Then it returned yesterday. Does anyone know what this might be?
