the fuel pump is inside the tank. before you buy a new fuel pump, have the current one checked. could be the wiring harness that runs the power to the fuel pump. If you're at that point already, and it is the wiring harness and not the fuel pump depending on how many miles and if its the first time. replace fuel pump and the entire piece not just the wire harness. Odds are if the fuel pump is out the harness could be next and its the same labor to pull the tank or lift the bed. The whole fuel system that houses the fuel pump is about 125.00 but you take care of one problem and a potential other one for the same labor. I had the fuel pump replaced and a year later the wire harness messed up.
