RepairPal Expert Overview on March 14, 2018

If the steering bolt wheel comes loose, the steering wheel can come off, meaning you have no control over which direction the car moves. This is very dangerous and could lead to an accident or injury.

Ford will replace the steering bolt with a better, longer one. Recall repairs on your Ford must be performed by a Ford dealership. Ford will notify known owners of affected vehicles, and estimates there are more than 1.3 million such vehicles. If you want to check to see if your vehicle is included, call one of your local Ford dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. Be prepared to provide your vehicle identification number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Ford recall number is 18S08.

RepairPal Expert Overview on January 12, 2017

The passenger frontal air bag assembly is deployed by an inflator which contains propellant that makes the air bag deploy. This propellant may degrade over time, especially when exposed to humidity and temperature cycling. As a result, the inflator may rupture on deployment, which can send metal shrapnel through the air bag, striking vehicle occupants. This could result in serious injury or death.

Recall repairs on your Ford, Mercury or Lincoln must be performed by a Ford or Lincoln dealership. Ford will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in February 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Ford or Lincoln dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Ford recall number is 17S01.
