On August 28, 2013, Lexus recalled 780,584 Toyota RAV4. Toyota is recalling certain model year 2006 through 2011 rav4 and 2010 lexus hs250h passenger vehicles manufactured from october 2005 through september 2010. if the nuts for adjusting the rear wheel alignment are improperly tightened during service, the rear suspension arm (rear tire rod) may develop unwanted movement and rust leading to thread damage and eventual failure. failure of the rear tire rod will cause an abrupt change in the vehicle's alignment.

One or both rear tie rods could fail resulting in loss of vehicle control.

Due to parts availability, Toyota will notify owners of affected vehicles in phases, from September 2013 through February 2014. If don't receive notification and you feel you should, please contact your dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. Please note: This recall supersedes the previous recall, number 12V-373. Vehicles inspected under the previous recall will need to be re-inspected and have the updated remedy completed.

Reduced braking performance may be experienced due to a brake booster system issue.

Toyota will begin notifying owners of the affected vehicles during July, 2013. If you notice problems with the braking system, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer for further instruction. Toyota will notify owners of affected Toyota and Lexus vehicles and General Motors will notify owners of affected Pontiac Vibe vehicles. As of this writing the manufactures have not released their owner notification schedules for this recall.

Toyota is recalling 2006 through 2011 RAV4 and 2010 Lexus HS250h passenger vehicles. During servicing of the rear suspension of your car, if the fasteners are not tightened properly, unwanted movement and rust can develop leading to component failure and loss of vehicle control.

Because the remedy for this concern is still being developed by Toyota, no owner notification is being sent at this time. Notification will be sent when remedy and necessary parts (if any) are in place. Owners are however, advised to contact their local Toyota or Lexus dealer if they notice any abnormal noise from the rear suspension area. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
