RepairPal Expert Overview on February 24, 2011

The floor carpet cover may interfere with the accelerator pedal, causing the throttle to become stuck in a partially open position. A stuck accelerator can result in unintended vehicle speed, increasing the risk of a crash.

We at RepairPal have designated this a high priority recall; the accelerator pedal could stick without warning. Please contact your local dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.

Lexus and Toyota notified owners of affected vehicles starting in November 2010. You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them.
