Leaking water around timing chain area

(1990 Cadillac Seville)
in Moreno Valley, CA on October 10, 2010
My neighbor has a 1986 chevy cadillac seville 4.1 liter leaking water from around the timimg chain cover area. He recently replaced the water pump, and does not believe that it is leaking from the water pump.

The water pump mounts onto the timing cover, if the surface of the cover was pitted at all the water pump gasket may not have sealed properly. Also there is a housing behind the cover called the water pump inlet housing. The leak may be from the housing gasket or the pipe that goes into it. Good luck!
