RepairPal was founded in 2007 by a group of automobile enthusiasts and entrepreneurs who were frustrated by the expensive and tedious process of fixing and maintaining their vehicles. They created RepairPal to provide drivers with the most accurate, unbiased, and useful car ownership information available. RepairPal is partnered with a number of great organizations, including but not limited to, USAA, Cars.com, Consumer Reports, Bosch, Castrol, Napa, and ASE.

RepairPal is headquartered at 363 Clementina Street in the SOMA neighborhood of San Francisco, close to BART, Muni, and CalTrain. We are a diverse team of experienced professionals working to make a real difference for both shops and consumers.

Senior Back-end Engineer, Core (San Francisco, CA)

Ruby on rails

RepairPal is looking for a strong, experienced senior engineer to join our Shop & Data team, and help bring innovation to the auto repair industry. This team and role is crucial to driving data initiatives within the organization, and with our many partnering companies. You should be comfortable working with large datasets, building and optimizing MySQL queries, and working in a small but dynamic team environment.

Don't worry! You don't need to know anything about cars, but you should have a strong drive to help consumers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of programming experience
  • Bachelors in computer science or comparable degree
  • Proficient in functional ruby programming
  • Proficient in command-line use
  • Strong MySQL experience, including building complex queries, and query performance tuning
  • Experience importing and managing large datasets
  • Experience designing REST APIs

Senior Product Designer (San Francisco, CA)

RepairPal is seeking a talented and seasoned full-stack designer with a strong background in creating engaging consumer experiences to grow RepairPal.com. You will lead the design vision for all user experiences in a fast-growing start-up environment, with substantial impact and visibility within the organization. You will drive design development from start to finish, working with product, engineering, content, data, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of designing and shipping for web and mobile
  • A proven track record of successfully launching mobile-first products with measurable results
  • A background of demonstrated design leadership from concept to launch, including strategy, design, testing, development, and analysis
  • Experience with two-sided marketplaces and designing internal administrative tools in addition to consumer experiences a plus
  • Experience managing a design team a plus
  • Expert knowledge of Sketch, Photoshop, and Illustrator

Responsibilities

  • Drive the design vision for RepairPal, including user discovery, branding, and UX/UI across RepairPal products
  • Proactively manage multiple projects, from start to finish to meet priorities and requirements
  • Partner with product managers and engineers to develop concepts and turn them into useful and valuable products
  • Communicate your ideas utilizing visuals, storyboards, and written materials
  • Drive user engagement KPIs and rapid-test designs based on customer insights and data
  • Effectively define and document user problems, principles, and details necessary to communicate and implement solutions
  • Drive usability studies, survey, and tests and integrate results into product requirements to enhance user experience

Technical Product Manager (San Francisco, CA)

RepairPal is seeking a talented and seasoned Technical Product Manager with a strong background in data to drive product development of our core technology stack. You will be the product champion for all data products, APIs, and core architecture in a fast-growing start-up environment. You will drive development from start to finish, working with engineering, data, and cross-functional executive stakeholders with substantial impact and visibility within the organization.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 2-4 years of product management experience with a proven track record of successfully launching products with an empasis on data
  • A background of demonstrated product leadership from concept to launch, including strategy, writing technical specifications, testing, development, and analysis
  • Familiarity with MySQL, ETL processes, Rails, and API development
  • Proficient in command-line use
  • Experience establishing Agile processes and influencing best practices across a growing product and engineering organization
  • Experience developing internal tools, system architecture, billing systems, and communications platforms a plus
  • Previous programming experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical product manager for core technology at RepairPal, driving all product efforts including requirements scoping, architecture discussions, and owning the product roadmap
  • Manage the full product lifecycle, working closely with engineers as scrum master to drive new feature development from start to finish
  • Analyze quantitative data and use it to inform your product strategy and roadmap
