On February 8, 2018, Jeep recalled 39,456 Jeep Wrangler. Chrysler (fca us llc) is recalling certain 2017 dodge caravan and jeep wrangler vehicles. the brake switches on these vehicles may malfunction, keeping the brake lights illuminated and/or allowing the vehicle to be shifted out of the park position without the brake pedal being pushed.

The brake light switch may malfunction, remaining in the "on" position, resulting in the brake lights staying illuminated, and also the shift lever being able to be moved from the park position without depressing the brake. This could result in the vehicle rolling away unexpectedly and result in an accident.

Recall repairs on your Jeep or Dodge vehicle must be performed by a Jeep or Dodge dealership. Chrysler will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in March, 2018. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Jeep or Dodge dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Chrysler recall number is U09.

The fuel tank control valve can become cracked or broken, resulting in the vehicle leaking fuel during a rollover accident. The valve can also allow for over fueling of the vehicle, or allowing debris inside the fuel tank. Fuel leaks can be a fire or slip hazard.

Recall repairs on your Jeep must be performed by a Jeep dealership. Chrysler will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in January, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Jeep dealerships.
