Jeep Liberty recall 12V527000

Components of the Airbag System May Deploy Unexpectedly
Body, Interior & Misc., November 8, 2012

RepairPal Expert Overview

Due to a fault with the computer that controls the airbag system, the front airbags, side curtain airbags, and/or seatbelt pretensioners may deploy inadvertently while the vehicle is being operated.

Chrysler will notify owners of affected vehicles during January, 2013. There are no symptoms related to this recall. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.

A component in the air bag control module may fail causing the front airbags, side curtain airbags, and/or seatbelt pretensioners to deploy inadvertently while the vehicle is being operated. Inadvertent deployment of the airbags may increase the risk of injury and the possibility of a vehicle crash. Dealers will install a supplemental wire harness to the airbag control module to correct this concern. The Chrysler recall number is M35.
