Will a transmission from a 97 trooper be compatible with a 98 trooper

It will start and when I put it on drive(D) it doesn't move .....only reverse works....

how to tell which is bad

need to where to look

when you try to speed up the transmission slips. is there any other reason other than its going bad? will a sensor on the transmission cause this

In the first 10 yrs we owned this nice truck we used these armrests frequently with no trouble. The past 6 yrs it has lived mostly in the barn with limited use. Both armrests are now stuck in the raised position. I can find nothing in the owners manual and there is no obvious latching mechanism to be found by sight or touch. In desperation we have beat the hell out of them resulting in NO movement. Is there a magic Japanese word that must be spoken? Thanks! - Rob Ulp

When I start it and applie the brake then try to shift in to gear it will not shift please help

Have rplaced the alternator and the battery, still have a no charge condition.

This rod became detached, but the electric parts work. The rod is attached to a kind of cam with a hole that fits onto the end of the cylinder, but I can't find how to attach it. Is there a missing screw, circlip, etc. or some kind of (missing) nub on the end of the cylinder that the can snaps onto? There is a plastic part on the end of the cam, but it does not seem broken nor does it seem to attach to anything.
Incidentally, I learned the hard way (burglary) that temporarily fastening the rod to the lock with a zip tie not only deactivates the door latch, but also the alarm.
Thanks for any help.
