no the crankshaft positioning sensor will do this also ,,and iits not that expensive,,Also you have a shifting interlock module,,that will lock it in park,,there is a flapper on the end of the consol,,just below the last letter ,,etc, park,,reverse,drive d1and d2 then at the bottom a small flapper you can use a bic pen to stick down the hole straight down with a slight push,and the car will come out of park,,,i had to replace mine,,called the shifting interlock module,,
