Is it normal for temp guage to rise when a/c is on? I recently replaced radiator

(1993 Ford Ranger)

Tempeture guage rises to the L when I turn my A/C unit to max.Is this harmful to the engine?.

Your cooling fans should operate when ever the a/c is on if there not it will get hot or overheat.You might have other issues such as a bad thermostat,clogged radiator ,or the fans may not be working at all.
