On April 26, 2016, Infiniti recalled 3,177,645 Infiniti QX60. Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 nissan maxima, 2013-2016 nissan altima, nv200, leaf and sentra, 2013-2017 nissan pathfinder, 2014-2016 nissan nv200 taxi, infiniti qx60 and q50, 2014-2017 nissan rogue, 2015-2016 nissan murano, chevrolet city express and 2013 infiniti jx35 vehicles. in these vehicles, the front seat passenger occupant classification system (ocs) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. as a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.

The passenger frontal air bag may fail to deploy in an accident. This can occur due to the passenger seat occupant classification system not being properly calibrated, and may not detect a passenger present in the seat as appropriate. This would increase risk of occupant injury in an accident.

Recall repairs on your Nissan, Infiniti or Chevrolet must be performed by a Nissan, Infiniti or Chevrolet dealership, respectively. Nissan, Infiniti and General Motors will notify known owners of affected vehicles (a timetable of this notification is not available as of the time of this writing). If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Nissan, Infiniti or General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle.
