If you are experiencing no left or right pull and your tires are wearing appropriately then no. Alignment is only needed when overcorrection in steering or excessive and uneven tire wear occurs. If this is not happening then......they were trying to squeeze a few more $$$ out of you. If you replaced the 2 front tires because of a bad wear pattern then they are correct about needing an alignment.

stay on top of tire rotation as rec. is a good way to know if front end is out of alignment. promotes even wear on all tires and they last longer. save money. a lot of tire shops handle rotation, and inspection for free(provided that they are who you deal with for your tires) as part of warranty on tires. if yours does, you should use it. relying on the car to pull left or right is not a deffinative test for alignment as roads also develope wear patterns which will pull car regardless of whether alignment is correct or not.

I tempted to take car in for alignment, due too road trip to Wash. DC coming up, but man when I let go of steering wheel, the car stays straight, no swaying or pulling, depending on road direction, so I'm going to stick to not getting alignment, again I'll keep eye on tire wear! ...Peace.
