I was driving and i hit my brake peadal and the petal was real hard

(1999 Chevrolet Malibu)
in Tampa, FL on August 15, 2014
I was driving along and went to slow down i hit the brakes and it barely slowed down like the brake booster was shot. The brake booster holds vacume most of the time if booster goes bad it dont hold vacume and now the font calipers are stuck this all happend at the same time. I also took the calipers off and they compress back easily so i know the calipers are not sricking could this be mastercylder problem? Thanks Dan

Yes, the problem may be the master cylinder, or low engine vacuum, restricted vacuum port, restricted vacuum hose, faulty booster, loose front wheel bearing(s), internally collapsed front brake hoses, binding caliper slides, etc.
