I have this p1709 code that will not go away any info on getting rid of it?

(1999 Acura TL)
I paid aamco for the electric test and they said they wanna rebuild my transmission. I say cuz they want the money. But I don't know. I'm told it's a selection gear that's out But don't know how to get to it.

You need another transmission. See about getting a used unit that has been rebuilt already and get a warranty for under $3,000. No other way around it. GL
