I have a metal rub or knocking sound when I rock the steering wheel. what is it?

(2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee)

it seem to happen when the wheels are close to center. I notice it when I'm steering into and out of parking spots

Worn steering shaft coupling joint, column to rack /sector. See repair/alignment shop. Not going to fall apart but needs to be fixed! It will be more pronounced with wheels centered, not as much resistance on the shaft allowing this joint to move around or knock. Turn wheel, binds up joint noise not so noticeable! This is my guess.
